It's All About YOU

The life you live is yours to own, create and dictate. It's never about what others believe you should do with it. You were born unique, different and an individual down to your very core. Be you at all times

4 Must know life Starters

Have  you ever sat and wondered where the heck is time going? I mean you can still remember the last Christmas as if it was yesterday, and yet, here you are again going through the same inevitable Christmas shopping, spending time with the family and eating without any cares of gaining a few extra pounds (That's my favorite part).

As surprising as it is, another year is about to come to an end. Now you find yourself putting pen to paper (as usual) to set New Years Resolution that you hope to accomplish for the coming year. However, lets back track a little before you start writing your resolutions. I want to share with you Four lifetime lessons I've learned this pass year.

1. Every Business Idea May Not Work Out

For those of you who aspire to be your own bosses. Here is something that you don't hear everyday. Your first startup may not even leave the ground. Ouch! I bet that hurts, but it's the truth. So, close your awed mouth and swallow the burning truth. Trust me because I've tried it. Not only did it fail, it was totally burned to the ground. I've learned that your customers are the toughest challenge you'll face. Nothing is worse than a irate blood thirsty, disgruntled and disappointed customer. "They'll chew you up and spit you out like a Comodo Chicken (whatever that is)" Yep got that from Avatar Aang. But through it all:
  • Be Patient
  • Listen Intently
  • Smile
  • Be Understanding
  • Do not make promises you can not meet
  • and try as best to do everything in a timely manner

Other wise just hang in there, the moment and phase will pass soon.

 2. Sleep Is Essential

We have heard countless amount of times how much hours per day doctors have prescribe for us to rest. According to National Sleep Foundation "Sleep needs vary across ages and are especially impacted by lifestyle and health". So there you have it, sleep is important. I spent an entire week on energy drinks and probably one hour a night or none at all trying to pull the rabbit out of the hat for a college project. Let me tell you I was a total wreck after that, talk about, weak, agitated, frustrated, miserable and tired. To save you the trouble of going through that experience

1. use your time wisely
2. work with a to-do list
3. and make sleep a priority. 7 hours max

If you aren't able to do 7 hours, for some individuals 5 hours will work as well. Just ensure you sleep

3. Don't Burn all Your Bridges

Not everyone who you disagree with or who disagrees with you should burn to the ground as problematic, insensitive and rude. I get it you feel hurt or possibly used. Well, cry if you must just let it all out, get up and then move on. Don't hold the grudge inside because it's a possibility that you will be the one chewing hot pepper and hoping the other person will feel the pain. It's hard but sometimes you just have to look pass the hurt and think about your happiness and well-being. Now comes the hard part, working on your own emotions. Life goes on and even through tough times are here now, Don't let it be a defining attribute to the individual you will be for the New Year. Hold no grudge, move on and be happy, it doesn't mean you will all be holding hands, but it means you'll be free.

4. Go For It, Don't Love Hand Outs

Have you ever aced an exam you studied months for? or finally gotten to score the goal of the century in a game you love? or held your first pay check? (same for entrepreneurs) the exhilaration, joy and relief you must have felt. Do you know why? Its because it's something that you had to put dedication, work, time and possible sleepless nights into. As opposed to just getting $100 from Uncle Tom once every month which may lead you to become dependent on others or worst, lazy. Hand outs or work for what you want? Which would you prefer?

I remember I got too comfortable once with awaiting my parents to always be there to rescue me and when they no longer had it to give I was despondent, felt like my world ended, literally. I learned the hard way and had to start fending for my own. It was not easy, but here I am today alive and well. So get going, hard work, trustworthiness and dedication will pay off greater in the end.

Quote of the day

There are things in life that we will never understand, but we may have to accept it as is. Love is a powerful tool and can be used to build or to destroy. Even though its not fully comprehensible try and use love wisely.
